Unfortunately, we are still dealing with COVID-19 and must deal with things virtually from time to time. This means that I will be meeting with you and your child through video conferences (Zoom) and utilizing online classrooms (Google Classroom, Clever).

I am a graduate of Holy Family University where I earned a Bachelors degree in Secondary English Education and a Masters degree in Education with a concentration in Special Education. I have had my Pennsylvania Certification since 2003 in ELA and added Technology Communications in 2004. I obtained my Special Education Certification in 2009. In 2016, I added Level 1 & 2 Google Educator to my credits. I am constantly looking for new opportunities to keep up to date with the current educational trends.

Upon graduating HFU,I began my teaching career as a long-term substitute at my Alma Mater, Archbishop Ryan High School. I followed this with another long-term substitute position in Bristol Township. After that experience, I worked as a teacher at a local school/program with adjudicated youth. In 2006, I was asked to join the faculty of John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls High School in Philadelphia where she taught for nine years. While at HH, I taught tenth grade ELA, Computer Skills, and Media Literacy.

In August of 2016, I was offered a position at School Lane Charter School in the Middle Years/International Baccalaureate Program as a Special Education Teacher. After three great years at SLCS, it was time to return to the city and I accepted a position in the Special Education Department at First Philadelphia Preparatory Charter. After a year of virtual learning, I decided to return to the ELA department as the 9th grade teacher. I have high hopes for a great future at FPPCS!
